Note to Self

When my brother passed, I decided I would be intentional about my own life and how I spend my time. Then the mountains turned into rolling hills. One seems like the next, so much like the previous. Note to self: Don’t get complacent.

Recognize

It feels like I have spent so much time trying to break away these layers of trauma, regret, and bitterness, that I am just now beginning to truly recognize grief as love.

Love

The more I actually engage with it, the more I am convinced that grief is the hardest part of love.
